Welcome to 25hours Hotel Terminus Nord, a boutique design hotel with an afro chic decor that is as colorful as an african bazaar! And just after opening this year it already made it unto Time Magazine’s World’ Greatest Places To Stay List.
France has the largest african population in Europe and this hotel not only celebrates France’s multicultural identity but also the colorful local heroes of the neighborhood chateau rouge.
BOOK a Night in an African Dream?
If you're traveling to Paris, stay at 25Hours Hotel Terminus Nord. The location is perfect as it's right in front of Gare du Nord, the train you will arrive by train
25Hours Hotel Terminus Nord,
an African Dream in the Heart of Paris
I had such a wonderful stay here because in many ways this hotel reflect who I am: african, colorful, multicultural and a cosmopolitan citizen. Something I also highlight in my collection Africanité, Créolité and Mondialité.
25 Hours Hotel Terminus Nord’s location is perfect as it’s right in front of Gare du Nord the station you will arrive at if you come by train. You can’t miss it!
And especially if you want to do a Europe trip being located so closely to Gare du Nord, the busiest train station in Europe, makes it super easy to continue to London, Rotterdam or Amsterdam
Colorful African Themed Hotel Rooms
The hotel offers medium rooms with queen or double beds, wifi and even bluetooth speakers in each room. You’ll also find a flat screen TV ideally tucked behind a sliding closet and some rooms also have a balcony with a view of Gare du Nord and the Sacré Coeur one of Paris most iconic views.
Paris, a Colorful Patchwork of Cultures
Paris is a multicultural melting post and 25 Hours Hotel Terminus Nord celebrates the city’s african, creole and cosmopolitan identity from the moment you step into the hotel. At the entrance you will find a delightful souk featuring products and brands such as Maison Chateau Rouge or the city Guide Afrique in Paris.
The decor is a colorful mix of african, indian, european and middle eastern influences and each element tells the story not only of the city but of the diverse cultural mix of the neighborhood Barbes and Chateau Rouge.
The book Portraits of Gare du Nord and hotel decor comes to life in the Little Africa Tour in Paris which I will highlight in an upcoming video. In the tour you will see characters also featured in the 25hours Hotel Terminus Nord such as fashion brands Maison Chateau Rouge and Jocelyn’s Sape & Co. There’s also a city guide book that packs all this beautiful gems and african hotspots in Paris. I will add the link for this below so you can get a copy and support.
If it’s raining outside and you decide to stay in you will be in for a treat as the hotels houses 2 striking colorful hotspots such as the Congo inspired Sape Bar and the modern telavivian restaurant Neni.
You can enjoy an all you can eat breakfast for 24 EUR and after having it the first day we couldn’t wait to have breakfast the next morning! Off course you had breakfast classics such as cereals, oatmeal and pastry but I was delightfully surprised with the telavivian culinary gems such as this chickpea dish, the abundance of humus and guacamole as I’ve been eating avocados every day lately. There’s also a coffee bar where you can order your coffee and consume it in such a tasteful and colorful decor. The light pink adds a soft feminine touch while the vibrant wall art reflects the hotel’s and paris’ colorful and global identity. If you want to try Neni’s food, Paris is not the only city where you’ll find this as they have restaurants in Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich, Cologne, Mallorca and much more.
The Sape Bar is inspired by Congo as Sape is a lifestyle that unites fashion conscious men. Sape means The Society of Ambiance Makers and Elegant People and you can see it in the way they dress, the colors they wear and the elegance they exude in every day life. This elegance was captured for the Sape Bar which offers elegant, colorful drinks in a beautiful decor that is not only chic but also features old records and cassette to celebrate music from Congo and other african countries. Even if you’re not a guest at the hotel you can come here and have a drink
In my upcoming video I will introduce you to a new kind of Paris, not the kind you see on postcards or in mainstream media but the colorful paris I’ve always loved. And I will show it to you under the theme Africanité, Créolité, Mondialité, as it highlights how every society nowadays transitioned from a single to a multiple cultural identity.
